Meet the 2022-2023 Leadership Jessamine County Board

David Powell, LJC Class of 2012
Chair
David works at the Jessamine County Public Library. He has worked in Jessamine County since 2003. David loves the county because it is "ripe with potential for growth and development. I think we are all part of a canvas that has a lot of unpainted spaces. That is exciting!" David is a part of Leadership because he believes "knowledge of yourself and those around you is a powerful thing and Leadership Jessamine County provides a unique experience to learn about yourself, the people surrounding you and place you live."

Rev. Beth Garrod-Logsdon, LJC Class of 2020
Vice-Chair
Beth is the pastor of Wilmore Presbyterian Church and has been a Jessamine County resident since 2007. She and her husband Josh have two children who attend East Jeassmine High School.
Beth's favorite part of Leadership Jessamine County was building connections and relationships with others who love this community and are working to make it an even better place to live and work. She sees her work on the board as a continuation of this passion.

Karli Giles, LJC Class of 2018
Secretary
Karli Giles is the Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent at the Jessamine County Extension Office. She has worked in Jessamine County for four years and has loved getting connected to the community. Karli was in the 2018 Leadership Jessamine County class. Not being from Jessamine County, this opportunity opened her eyes to everything Jessamine has to offer and gave her a deeper appreciation of the community she works in! Karli looks forward to serving on the board and opening others' eyes to the opportunities available in Jessamine County. She recently married her high school sweetheart, and she enjoys traveling, going to horse races, being outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends!

Justin Ray, LJC Class of 2016
Treasurer

Jenna Brock, LJC Class of 2016
Class Liaison
Jenna works at Asbury University for the Youth Becoming Leaders Program in Wilmore. She has lived in Wilmore for just over 10 years now and thinks the best part about Jessamine County is its small town feel. "There's nothing like living among people you know!" She is a part of Leadership to continue to understand how she and those she knows can serve the people of Jessamine County better.

Carrie Peterson, LJC Class of 2018
Communications Chair
Carrie Peterson owns Carrie Peterson Connects, a Digital and Social Media Marketing company connecting businesses to their ideal clients all over the United States, but finds there is no place like home!
Carrie and her husband built their home in Jessamine County almost 15 years ago. She loves the "small town warmth of Jessamine County! From the great schools to the ease of access of everything we needed, it quickly became home." She is a part of Leadership because, "Every great town could use some sprucing up and positive change. I would love to see a revitalization in Downtown. I see those empty store fronts as BIG opportunities. I'd also like for Jessamine County to place a fingerprint on Kentucky with something we produce and love! Be a place people enjoy visiting and where residents spend their time and resources."

Christi Hack, LJC Class of 2016
Alumni Chair
Christi Hack is the Curriculum Resource Administrator for the Jessamine Career and Technology Center and Lead Administrator for the JCTC West Campus. She has worked at JCTC for 14 years and taught agriculture prior to moving into administration. She is a Jessamine County native and she, along with her husband Josh and sons Landon and Lane, are proud to call Wilmore home. They live on a small farm where they raise market lambs and Christi enjoys gardening and her backyard chickens. Christi was in the LJC Class of 2016 and joined the board to help others build their local network and understand the impact a motivated group of individuals can have on the community.

Justin Patterson, LJC Class of 2016
Father Justin is a pastor at Saint Athanasius Orthodox Church in Nicholasville. He has lived in Jessamine County for 12 years. Justin loves that Jessamine "is small enough to be a real community and to know people in town, but big enough and close enough to Lexington to have cultural, educational, and social amenities that are more in line with a much larger city." Justin is a part of Leadership for 2 reasons: "First, I sincerely love our county and want my activities to reflect that with my time and actions. Second, part of being integrated in a community is to have connections. Leadership Jessamine has connected me (and continues to connect me) to people, knowledge, and institutions that enrich my life personally and professionally. You can't really put a price on that."

Dave Short, LJC class 2020
Class Liaison

Charity Reed, LJC Class of 2017
Charity is not only a rockstar runner but also an awesome financial advisor with Edward Jones. She has worked in Jessamine county for 4 years now. She loves Jessamine County because the people are loving and friendly. She also loves the "beautiful landscapes, from the nature preserves, Asbury Trails, and Highbridge, to the palisades." Charity is a part of Leadership because she wants to be a part of spreading the word about how great the community of Jessamine is and to help create future ambassadors of Jessamine County.

Kriste Blumetti, LJC class of 2014
Kriste works at Baptist Health Lexington in the Human Resources department and has lived in Jessamine for over 40 years! She loves the small town feel of Jessamine but the fact that it is close to a big city. Kriste is part of Leadership because she enjoys "the networking and interaction with the community."
